Hajime Yoshizawa - Innocent Nocturne (2009)
>> Thursday, January 8
Hajime Yoshizawa is the Jazz pianist / keyboardist from Japan. He has been the forerunner in Japanese club Jazz scene, and the one of the most sought keyboardist in nu-Jazz scene by contributing his electric touch with many groups and producers, including Kyoto Jazz Massive, and Jazzanova. He is also a member of Jazz quartet Sleep Walker, a more straight forward hard bop group.
Sleep Walker’s Hajime Yoshizawa returns with his latest album Innocent Nocturne, already his second longplayer on Village Again in 2008 (following Japan).
Innocent Nature is on a bit different tip than Yoshizawa’s previous work, though it still has that trademark sound. The piano is the dominant instrument here, accompanied by bass and percussion only. It would be easy to believe this was recorded in the glorious days of jazz, or hearing the music performed in a jazz club or hotel lounge. As with all releases on Village Again, the album is only available in Japan
